Explore the Indonesian art of batik, using wax resist, dyes, cotton fabric, and imagination.
You will be designing a 16x20” fabric batik . Batik is a "resist" process for making designs on fabric, with the use of wax and dyes applied in various layers to cloth.
Bring a design that you would like to use ( not too much detail). Pinterest is a good source.
Also bring the following:
Apron or old shirt
Long rubber gloves (dishwashing type)
Wooden spoon
Lunch
$20.00 material fee (cloth, dyes, soda ash, waxes, etc) due to instructor at class.
