Accessibility
Above: Completed elevated walk, new steps and designated parking space awaits railings and landscaping in the spring.
Below: Demolition and removal the old steps and concrete walk have progressed, and fill is being brought in.
Frederic Arts qualified for a grant to develop a new elevated sloped sidewalk providing accessibility to the Art Center’s main floor for classes, meetings and events as well as a designated parking space. A land survey and an architect’s plan were completed earlier. The project signals our intent to be fully accessible and plans for a future accessible restroom project are being discussed. Approximately 75% of the total cost came in the form of a grant through the USDA’s Rural Development Community Facilities Program and was facilitated through Senator Tammy Baldwin’s office as a part of Congressionally Directed Spending.
Accessible Restroom
In 2023, with local fundraising and a Federal grant, we installed a new parking space and walkway to provide full access to our Art Center main floor. In 2024 we improved accessibility again with an ADA compliant restroom off the main floor of the art center.
